Pro Zelaya Protesters march on Saturday
On Saturday, July 4th, thousands of Pro Zelaya protesters took to the streets. Amassing at the Univerisity Pedagogica, they marched peacefully to the airport with the hopes of greeting ousted President Zelaya. Although there was a large military presence at the airport people remained calm while chanting "we want Mel!" and the National Anthem.
These protests, although unpublicized in National Media, have been occurring since the President was removed from office, in all major cities in Honduras.
Zelaya was looking to return today, Sunday, amidst threats of being arrested and tried for Treason; however has changed once again, and flown into El Salvador.
