The Staples Center opens to MJ fans

The fans have arrived from around the world and the gates are about to open. A staffer from the Staples Center welcomes the attendees of the Michael Jackson memorial and recites rules and guidelines. It's a bit difficult to make out every word through the deafening the noise of the generator trucks providing power to the news media. Everyone is required to pass security checkpoints and present a ticket and a gold wristband to enter the Staples Center auditorium. Attendees with silver wristbands are directed to watch a simulcast from the Nokia Theater next door. Because the LAPD restricted entrance to the entire area just to ticketholders, the crowd appeared to be manageable and admission was processed relatively quickly.
