    Moving into a new area a few years ago i used online sites to help find services to help get settled  but to meet people -no- i would not go on line to meet people for dating or making friends. i have read to many reports of very serious outcomes of people going out to meet people-but others will say some sites are safe and if you meet in an open place and follow safe guidelines for meeting it can be successful. the Internet is very helpful to navigate and plan your way thru a city -but for me -not to meet people.
