In anticipation of the July 10, 2009  day of  Bruno the movie I pondered how to make that day even more special......  Being a fashion designer and creative spirit of sorts I wanted to wear something fun.  Of course when I saw the many photos of Bruno in lederhosen I was inspired.  I searched on Ebay and the internet and since I had 5 days this was not an option.  Funny thing is that in my posession I had everything I needed to create my take on Bruno's style.  I started with a striped herringbone wool in crazy shades of purple, navy, royal, olive and cream, this was perfectly set off by a heavily embroidered trim with a densely embroidered black and gold with pearl inset on frontice piece.  I found some stunning large carved mother of pearl buttons for the straps and back straps.  While fitting I found it needed a little something something so the codpiece was the perfect finishing touch.  The straps and inside are lined in silk taffeta and the front beaded square panel is lined in the same fabric as the magenta and white checked sleeveless shirt underneath.  I had SUCH fun putting this together.  To accessorize my ensemble  I topped it off with an austrian style fedora with two fab 1930's fur clips for some extra bling.   Snagging a  vintage doctors bag from my collection I embellished it with rhinestone BRUNO letters, diamond cross pendant and huge carved mother of pearl pendant with iolite drop.   The Bruno letters were courtesy of the Spiffy Pooches site online where I get collars for my pets, I highly recommend it.  The most inexpensive part of the outfit was my black rubber clogs which I purchased at Dee & Dee for a whopping $2.50.  I wen't to the Chelsea cinema to view this with friends and getting dressed up was such a great part of the experience I love New York for that.......  While I say could probably not do this in Idaho knowing me I would ........... thought I would share and hope you like my handiwork, now go out and see Bruno!!  Bruno if you liked my lederhosen I would love to make you a pair or any litte think your heart desired.  Thanks for making the world a fun place to live in!
