San Juan, Puerto Rico

This iReport is part of an assignment:
Signs of the economic times |
Hot Weather, Cool Economy: Puerto Rico
Old San Juan is not only one of the most beautiful and well preserved cities in the Caribbean, it is also its cruise capital. Ships use its port as a base for week long cruises of the Islands. Even with tourism, the old town is showing signs of the global economic crisis. Here are some photos I took Friday, July 10th. With no ships in, the city can look empty, smaller, local stores are closed and some sit waiting for customers.
