    Me and Grandpa

I went to visit my 92 year old grandfather Memorial Day weekend.  After perusing the many photos of family and friends he had scattered on top of the tv and on his wall shelves, I dug a picture of myself out of my purse and gave it to him.  I said, "Here you go grandpa, now you have a picture of me."  He said, "I'll do ya one better." Then he got up and dug out his Polaroid camera that someone in the family had given him just last Christmas and had our picture taken.  He has ALWAYS had a Polaroid.  Us grandkids would wait impatiantly as he peeled stuff apart and griped at us not to touch them!  He'd always cup them in his hands.  I don't know if that was a necessary process or just his way of being able to see the pictures first!  I watched him this time cupping the prescious photo in his withered hands and knew that this was probably the last time I'd get one of these instant memories from my grandpa.  Not from HIS passing, but Polaroid's!  God bless my sister, as she is making sure she buys up all the film she comes across so he won't run out!  Polaroid makes my grandpa happy and therefore it makes our WHOLE family happy!
