This iReport is part of an assignment:
Coup in Honduras |
Artists Make their voice heard
Local Artists with the help of Students and Artists from the Univerisity Pedagogica congregated in Tegucigalpa's center square on Sunday, July 13, in protest of the Interim Government. Pro-Zelaya artists, musicians, students, and activists, shared their feelings against the new government through short plays, speeches, songs, and performance art.
Protests for Zelaya, the ousted President of Honduras, have continued daily since his removal from office. They normally congregate each morning outside of the University Pedagogica, where Students of the University seem to have taken a lead in organizing the activities.
However, it is not only students who have been supporting Zelaya, as men and women of all ages have come out to show their sympathy and support.
