Senator Jeff Sessions Rattles the Sabre at Judge Sonia Sotomayors Nomination Hearing: Is it Wise?
This nomination process will be no walk in the park for Judge Sonia Sotomayor, as per senator Jeff Sessions (R) from Alabama. In fact, judging from his opening statements, he has decided to depict the nominee as a activist judge with an racially motivated agenda. Really? Were it not a Puerto Rican claimant seeking relief through the court on the New Haven Conneticut case? She sided against him... So much for racial allegiance...
It is apparent that Senator Sessions remains embittered by the handling he underwent during his nomination to the high court during the Reagan administration. His nomination was defeated in committee.
Senator Orin Hatch, Utah republican, was as eloquent as possible when stating his disatisfaction with past democrats, including then senator Obama, for his derailing and attempted derailing of Justices Alito and Chief Justice Roberts, during the Bush years. On that assumption, there is enough angst and animosity to provide all the fireworks necessary to transform this nomination process into a surreal spectacle...
Stay Tuned!!!
