This iReport is part of an assignment:
Help Obama kick the habit |
$90 billion deficit in June alone - your share is $1,000
In June 2009 the budget deficit for ONE MONTH - topped $94 Billion for the first time. Thats about $1,000 for each US household.
That means that your share of the national debt is going up $1,000 monthy, UP $12,000 a year.
Of couse, if you subtract the people who don't work (too young, retired, on welfare, etc) then your share is even higher. How much higher? Too scary - you do the math.
I don't know about you, but I make sacrifices each month to live within my means. Its discouraging to hear that my debt is skyrocketing anyway due to government excess, and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.
But CNN has dedicated this "assignment" to Obama's smoking problem instead.
Just so long as we have our prioritties sorted out, eh?
Here's a link to the budget article, which is NOT being featured on CNN, of course.
