On June 17th Shifty Powers died of cancer. Those of you who have seen Band of Brothers know who shifty was. He was in all episodes and interviewed several times. Shifty served with the 101st airborne, he was assigned to easy company of the 506th PIR. He made the Normandy jump, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was there at the taking of Hitlers eagles nest. He was no rock star, no great athlete and hip hop artist. He also had no drinking or drug problems and was never involved in controversy. He was though a hero. There were no huge parades for Shifty and he wasn;t all over the media. RIP Shifty Powers and thank you sir
