Governor Palins replacement, the Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell in Kotzebue for Shore Ave ceremony
The replacement for Governer Sarah Palin since she announced her withdrawl from the Alaskan Governorship, Sean Parnell current Lientenant Governor was in Kotzebue earlier today for a Shore Avenue expansion groundbreaking ceremony.
The ceremony began at 12pm with a free lunch of freshly grilled hotdogs, chips and soda for the public. Finally after years of study and planning the project will get underway to expand Kotzebue Alaska's shore Ave. This is a 43 million dollar project that has been drastically needed in this arctic (hub to 11 villages) community in Northwest Alaska of approximately 3500 residents due to severe erosion eating away at what remains of the current Shore Avenue.
It was a pleasant surprise to see and meet the soon to be Alaska Governor at this event. Sean stood in line like everyone else for his hotdog and chips and spent time talking with whomever chose to speak with him.
It will be interesting to see what course Sean Parnell takes for the Great State of Alaska in relation to exiting Governor Sarah Palins projects for the state that are currently on the table or in progress.
