The Neo African Americans: Somalis in Maine
Somali African Americans? In the last fix to six years, a small town in Maine has seen as influx of refugees from Somalia and Sudan. When I went to screen The Neo-African Americans at Bates College, I used the opportunity to document the life of these Black, Muslim, African immigrants and how they are fitting in in this old White, Catholic French Canadian settlement.
