Signs of the economic times |
8 Kittens
We were recently adopted by this very cute and pregnant kitty. We live in the country and have not seen her before so we think she was dropped off by someone who didn't want the responsibility of a pregnant cat. The Vet says she is only about 8 months old but healthy, she is very friendly to people. She isn't too sure about our 5 dogs and three other cats. But I can guarantee that that the kittens will be using the dogs for chew toys in just a few weeks. Of course we thought that she would have 5 at the very most. She is a terrific mother and is doing a very good job. We think we will have to supplement her milk soon. We have weighed them all and gave them names so that we can track their growth and make sure all is ok. The shelters around in Nevada and in California are all full and not taking cats. The shelter for our county isn't a no kill shelter so that is out of the question. Seems as though they don't even attempt to find homes for animals. We have had about 100 recent cases of horses abandoned around here too, some with a piece of hide missing where the identifying brand was once located.
