A response to Wolfe Blitzer: "Taxing the rich for healthcare reform"

Wolfe, during yesterday's show you hosted a discussion about taxing the very rich to partly finance healthcare reform. An example was mentioned as follows:

A couple earning $1.5 million annually is presently paying some $560,000 in taxes. Taxing their $1.5 million would add an approximate $65,000 to their tax liability annually. What I find insensitive is that after paying $560,000 in taxes this couple lives on $940,000 per year. Subtracting another $65K leaves them with a pitiful $885,000 per year with which to support a lavish lifestyle by Main Street standards.

Moreover, the number of $25,000 per year jobs that fit into $885,000 per year is thirty five. It is aberrantly insensitive to even make such a comparison as if suffering Main Streeters should feel sorry for the selfishness of millionaires who object to sacrificing for the good of those uninsured masses who are either directly or indirectly responsible for their way-above average incomes.

Wolfe, sometimes I wonder whose side you and CNN are on?????? It sure sounded to me that you are supporting and feeling "empathy" for the wealthiest of Americans
