This iReport is part of an assignment:
Black in America 2 |
Disappointed in Black in America 2- Part I
A multicultural crowd of about 20 students, faculty and staff at The University of Alabama was NOT impressed with the first installment of CNN's Black in America 2. The biggest problem: cvercoverage of the "Journey for Change" in Africa and under-coverage of leaders in middle America who are making a difference for Blacks in America. In general the stories in the first part of the documentary featuring "Leaders" depicted extremes in the African-American community rather the "regular Joe or Jane" in America who IS making a difference.
For more detailed on the reaction to CNN Black in America, read http://bamaproducer.blogspot.com/2009/07/university-of-alabama-viewers-not.html
We are expecting more complete reporting in the second installment Thursday, which focuses on Pioneers.
