This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel Snapshots: Paris |
European Platter
These photographs are of dishes served in Spain, France and Italy. One common characteristic for the foods of all these nations, is that of diversity. Depending on the province or city within each country, the cuisine alters slightly. Southern Spanish food has influence from the Moors, is home to Tapas, and has a wider variety of seafood. Along the southern coast of France, the close to the border of Italy, the larger the Italian influence on cuisine. Same goes for Spain, the closer the borders between nations, the greater the influence on cuisines to each other. These pictures were taken in 2008. Photograph 1 was taken in Paris, France alongside Boulevard Saint-Germain at a local pâtisserie. Photograph 2 was taken in Granada, Spain and served as dessert. Pieces of fruit and nut are draped in chocolate. Photograph 3 was taken in Granada, Spain and is of Tapas. There is Spanish Tortilla (eggs), tomatoes with olive oil, and a vegetable medley in the picture. Photograph 4 was taken in Rome, Italy. There is an Italian pizza with ham and olives. As well, a salad with apples on top of sliced turkey.
