What's the best thing about your town?

THE SUN WILL SET FOR YOU

America is changing dramatically.  The population is shifting to small towns once again.  This is my opinion.  My name is Terry Rowe.  One year ago I moved from Atlanta Georgia to Bluefield West Virginia.  I grew up near here in Hurley Virginia and I went to school at Bluefield College.  Bluefield is a town on the border of Virginia and West Virginia. I live on the West Virginia side.  Atlanta was a vibrant and fun city with a metro area population of about 5 million people.  Bluefield West Virginia has 11 thousand people approximately.  The population here was much higher than that when I lived here before. That was 20 years ago.    This is kind of a tale of two cities.  But I believe this story is being repeated all over America.  No town or city is untouched.  The bad economy nation wide has affected us all.  My perception is that small businesses are beginning to open again in downtown Bluefield West Virginia.  Some people are coming back to be closer to family and also to make there money go further.  Others are finding affordably priced buildings and houses. One gentlemen moved from out west and bought an old school.  He is turning it into a restaurant, bar and coffee house.  .  Another gentlement has opened up a country restaurant close to Bluefield.  That gentleman is from England.  I have met people from Knoxville Tennessee that are building a new business in town.  A new Italian restaurant just opened, walking distance from downtown.  I have several stories like this.  It is amazing.  Some of the big chain businesses have closed nearby.  This includes restaurants.  This was not a result of local problems.  It was problems that the big businesses had worldwide.  The smaller businesses opening are filling the gap.  The big cities will still do well but they won't be the only place to make money.  For right now, I believe, the small towns are the best place to live and make your money go further.  I don't know if I will stay here.  I haven't decided on a job yet.  But the little money I have has gone much further because I have been living in Bluefield West Virginia.  The sun always sets and eventually rises.  I believe this is a new day for small town America.  ISmall towns are the best investment that you can make in the current economic climate and the risk is extemely low because the prices are so cheap compared to the big cities.
    Ps.
The music in the videos are sung at Gary Bowling's
House of Art in downtown Bluefield West Virginia.  Shadow of the day is originally from Linkin Park.  Sung by Kevin Pennington.  Hurt like this is sung by the original artist David Gruitza.
