This iReport is part of an assignment:
Salute to troops |
LCpl. Josef Lopez
This is what my son looked like when he came home from Iraq -- in a coma & on life support. He was denied TSGLI compensation because his injury was caused by a reaction to the smallpox vaccination. Recently, Claire McCaskill presented an amendment to the defense budget bill, but this amendment was shot down in committee today. More info can be found through links at www.marineparents.com/announcements/benefit-battle.asp. My son was recently medically retired with a 90% disability, he will never be the same again. How bad does one have to be? Does anyone out there care about our military? I am furious that MY country has turned it's back on my child. There are others out there, but they are a small enough group that, obviously, they are considered collateral damage. There will be others in the future, but I guess they don't matter either. Does CNN care? Will you do a story?
What do you think of this story?
