    Don't Tread on Me Flag - Where did it come from?

    The Don't Tread On Me flag, Gadsden flag and tea party flag are one and the same, but why is it re-surfacing now?

     

    Made popular again by recent controversial decisions the Obama administration has made, the Don't Tread On Me flag actually predates our first American flag.  Though, a flag that is flown in protest it is in fact the respectful and patriotic way to protest the government.  Often people fly their American flag upside down to protest the government, which is against the United States Flag code.  The flag should only be flown upside down to signal help in an emergency.

     

    The Don't Tread On Me flag has been flown at recent "Tea Parties" to protest the government's excessive taxation and the deviation from our founding father's ideals.
