Iran protests on July 25 in Tehran

7 pm – A large number of people gathered in Vanak Square to mark international human rights day in Iran. They chant, "Do not be afraid, we are all together" and "political prisoners must be freed". Security forces attacked and clashed with the protesters. There are severe security measures being taken out in this area.

There are clashes next to the Anbia Mosque. Protesters chant "death to dictator". Security forces are beating the protesters. An eyewitness said that security forces dragged a young woman on the street. Security forces try to disperse the crowds but they converge again.

7:30 pm – Security Forces and riot police attack protesters like never before and relentlessly beat them. In one instance more than 10 security forces attacked a 17 or 18 year old girl and beat her with the intent of killing her in front of all the people and handed her over to plainclothes ‎agents.

They answered the cries of protesters with batons and clubs and broke the windows of protesters' cars with clubs and ripped off their license plates and take it with them. Drivers who want to get out of their cars are beaten and kicked backed in their cars. The people around Vanak Square ‎who witnessed the scene chanted Allah O Akbar and booed the security forces.

In all the roads leading to the main streets security forces beat the protesters using obscene language to disperse them. They even closed all the shops on the street with force so that people ‎could not use them as an excuse to gather in the area. More than 3 to 4 thousand people were standing around the square. But the security forces numbered more than the people. They were ‎constantly patrolling the area with their motorcycles and dispersed the people from around the square. ‎

About 2,000 people have gathered in the Mirdamad and Valiasr intersection crying and chanting ‎‎"security forces you should be ashamed of yourself". ‎
