Lesley's memorial
Her name is Lesley Barhorst, this was her bike. She was only 15, until that fatal day, February 6, 2009. A truck turned right, did not see the young girl, resulting in a tragedy that changed the life of many people……
I pass this intersection every day when I return from work, there it is, here bike across the street close to the spot were she died. Every time I see it I realize how dangerous this intersection is, and think of the girl that died too young……..life is precious, can be gone in a fraction of a second.
Every single day I see people are looking at the memorial, each with their own thoughts, I can see them think.
I think it is good to have memorials like this, tomorrow I will pass it again thinking of that girl, her family, friends…..and my own 3 year old son I will see at home…….
