This iReport is part of an assignment:
Surviving a tough economy |
American Companies still making American Dreams come true
My name is Daniel Kole, it use to be Nathaniel Adleta, but I changed it this year to reflect who I have become over the years. Growing up in America I had always dreamed of becoming a video game designer. I played video games, work hard to develop both my graphic design skills and my programming knowledge. I hoped that one day I'd land a job in a video game company. That has happened, but thanks to one American company: Apple Inc. I have reached and seen my American dream of becoming a video game design come true. You see, Apple released their new iPhones last year, and I got one and found out that anyone with the passion for it could design video games for it and have them sold on the iTunes store. I went out and used my very little credit to buy a MAC and downloaded the application creating SDK. After 2 weeks of learning, my first video game, DeadlySpace, was finished and submitted to Apple for approval. Today I have two full video games for sale globally on the iTunes store: DeadlySpace and SpeedQuest.
As the economy struggles, I am proud to call myself an American, as I am reminded that my American dream of becoming a video game design came true thanks to one great American company: Apple Inc. I know we will bounce back because that's what we do. And American dreams can still come true.
