Woodstock: 40 years later |
Woodstock Music Festival 1969
My friend and I, his name was Gene, took a bus from the Port Authority on Saturday afternoon, Everybody said there were no buses going to the festival. We got to the Catskills and walked about 10 miles to the festival. The people who had summer homes in the Catskills were great.
We were up most of the night, who could sleep with the music going on all night. Janis Joplin was performing in the middle of the night and Jefferson Airplane played while we had breakfast.
We left Sunday afternoon accomponied by Jimi Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner or that's what people were saying.
Changed my life. I back packed a total of tree years in the 70's mostly in Europe and Asia.
