Swami Satchidananda and myself at Woodstock

We were part of Swami Satchidananda's inner circle of Yogi's and were asked to join him to open the Woodstock Music Festival.  But in order to meet him when he arrived by helicopter we had to traverse 10 miles of backed up traffic.  We were stuck, but I knew we had to get there...so I had some of his students go out of the bus and just tell the truth.  "We're opening the festival and have to meet Swamiji there...could you just move your car a little to the right and yours a little to the left, please?"  And little by little and what seemed to be slo-mo going in reverse we, car by car, inched our way up the middle of the 2 lane, 10 mile bumper to bumper, dead standstill of traffic and made it in time.  We said hello to Richie Havens who was sitting on a stool till we finished and then he went on first.  We chanted OM and Swamiji gave this great talk and we sat there in front of a sea of people.  It was an amazing experience and  filled with boundless energy.
