This iReport is part of an assignment:
Racial profiling: Both sides |
Boston officer
I think officer Justin Barrett should be suspended for his racist-sounding mass email but I think firing him is too severe. To fire him would be reckless and will inflame resentment. We shouldn't so easily simply give up on people who may appear racist. Think about the consequences for someone losing his job. Patience and further investigation is needed.
Ultimately, if warranted, instead suspension wo pay for 1 month plus community service assisting with inner city programs that serve the African-American community would be more effective.
