Ad van Rooij and his battle against the production of Wolmanized wood
Mr. ing. A.M.L. van Rooij, with his company E.K.C. b.v. in
Sint-Oedenrode fax 0413-490386, has brought the environmental
poisoning of the Dutch Environment to the attention of the Dutch High court for over 20 years now. With his proof he won several cases against the Dutch government and he has shown the citizens of the Kingdom of The Netherlands that Wolmanized wood is a serious source of cancer.
On Sunday, April 26th 2009 ing. A.M.L. van Rooij is seriously beaten and almost kicked to death. The police has investigated the attack on van Rooij but the Public Prosecutor mysteriously does not want to file a lawsuit to the attacker.
On July 29Th, 2009 the Dutch police and Regionaal Milieu bedrijf has raided the property of ing. A.M.L. van Rooij and brutally inflicting him serious harm. The police have made pictures of all his private rooms including the rooms of his foreign guests. He was held in detention unlawfully for over four hours and the police had no right to deprive him of his liberty. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that The Council of State of the Netherlands is a joke. A.M.L. van Rooij has been filing lawsuits to stop the immense pollution by our so called green Energy Powerplant Amercentrale 9 which is burning highly toxic materials containing carcinogenic substances. The Amer power station in Geertruidenberg is polluting the air. Treated wood should not be burned because toxic chemicals may be produced as part of the smoke and ashes. The westward wind brings the heavy polluted air to Heusden (Noord-Brabant). The air carries Arsenic, Chromium Oxide, and many other carcinogenic substances.(EURAL). The Dutch government is not listening to our health concerns. One should not be exposed to frequent or prolonged inhalation of sawdust from treated Wolmanized wood. The American Medical Association also advises against burning Wolmanized wood.
To make matters worse Wolmanized wood containing Arsenic and Chromium Oxide carcinogenic materials are used in toys for children. That is why the number of cancer patients in the kingdom of The Netherlands is increasing exponentially. Young people do not have the necessary aberrant stem cells that may offer self-renewal pathways for the body. This may lead to an increase of young people becoming ill.
On August 26th 2008 our president mr. dr. J.P. Balkenende wrote a letter that he no longer answers the letters with our health concerns, leaving us no other instrument than to draw international attention to our environmental concerns. The chemical surrounded by pressure treated wood is a chromium cupric arsenic (CCA) compound that binds to cellulose. Poisonous wood on playgrounds maybe even your own home. We first told you about the dangers of pressure treated lumber back in 2001. Since then, the Dutch government did not ban the use of arsenic in the wood. For countless children on playgrounds and decks across the country a real danger is lurking. The wood is pressure treated lumber, pumped full of a chemical cocktail containing chromium, copper and arsenic, or CCA. But almost every outdoor structure made before then was made from CCA-treated wood. Tests on wooden structures at playgrounds and schools showed that kids are still coming into contact
with this cancer-causing chemical. Why are kids still being exposed? Scientists also found that the arsenic levels don't get lower over time. Up to 1 in 100 children touching and playing in this area regularly can be expected to develop lung or bladder cancer.
You could pick up more than just a splinter from the chemically
impregnated wood widely used to build backyard decks, playground equipment, picnic tables, lawn furniture, fences, gazebos, and boat docks. The dense, gray-green wood can make you sick, pollute the environment and isn’t as durable as the treated wood industry claims.
Chromate-copper-arsenate, or CCA, the highly toxic chemical pesticide widely used as a wood preservative, can seep out of the wood. Those cancer-causing chemicals could pose a health concern and an environmental threat during the wood’s useful life and after its disposal. Liquid oozing from CCA-treated wood could contaminate ground water under porous-sandy soils and produce a host of health problems in humans, from liver and kidney failure to cancers.
Studies have show arsenic from CCA-treated wood stunts plant growth and turns leaves yellow. The treated wood industry denies there is a risk if the wood is handled and used properly, and maintains CCA is a safe preservative suitable for structural uses around homes, and in parks and playgrounds. Studies also show that exposure to acidic rainfall increases the risk of chemical leaching. Given the acid rainfall, the amount of these toxic CCA chemicals leached may increase over time. Determining the actual leaching rate, however, will require studies of lumber stockpiles and of wood sent to landfills.
In conclusion we ask why the Dutch government is negotiating Human Rights in other countries and at the same time brutally maltreating its citizens?
