History in the making |
WOW...BARACK WON...HAPPY AND STUNNED
You asked for reactions to the Barack win. I am stunned and overjoyed at the result. As a 30 year old black man, I NEVER thought something like this would happen in my life time...and I still have MANY years ahead of me. I found myself dumbfounded seeing masses of mostly white people behind this black man. As a younger guy that has been called niger to my face, received hate mail at my parents home when we moved into a "white" neighborhood, and had it suggested to be that I got my job after college because of affirmative action...this is almost too much to take in.* What makes it even more amazing is that I didn't have to vote for him just because he's black and I wanted to get a black man in office...I could do so because I actually thought he was best. My daughter will never have the same doubts about this country and the African American community as a whole will have a reshaped view of what is, and what can be.
