Anti-wrinkle cream among items as ‘career shoplifter,’ 86, arrested for 61st time.

    Not Your Typical Senior Citizen:

Ella Orko was arrested for the 61st time on Sunday in Chicago. The 86-year-old woman, who was first arrested in 1956, allegedly tried to steal over $250 worth of grocery store items, including a tube of anti-wrinkle cream, stuffed into her pants. Orko is charged with felony shoplifting and is being held on a $10,000 bail.

Chicago Police said Ella Orko attempted to steal over $250 worth of merchandise by stuffing items into her pants at a Chicago grocery store. Along with the anti-wrinkle cream, police said the woman tried to make off with AA batteries, several packs of salmon, instant coffee and cosmetics, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Orko was first arrested in 1956 for petty larceny. Though police said she has since been convicted 13 times for shoplifting, the Cook County state attorney's office could confirm only five convictions. Orko's most recent conviction, in 2006, carried prison time and she was paroled in 2007.
A Cook County judge ordered Orko held on a $10,000 bail Monday. She is charged with felony shoplifting, in light of her long history with the law, and prosecutors recommended she be electronically monitored.
