NOW correspondent Amal Shehadeh reported on Thursday that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in an interview with an Israeli radio station that Tel Aviv will attack Lebanon’s infrastructure and state institutions in case war breaks out between Israel and Lebanon.
This comes in contrast to the 2006 July War, when Israel refrained from targeting the country’s infrastructure based on US demands.
Barak also said he hopes calm would be prevail at the Lebanese-Israeli border, adding that Tel Aviv is concerned about Hezbollah’s increasing military power.
