    Typhoon Morakot approaches Taiwan

    TAIPEI, Taiwan - 08/07/2009 - 15:00 (+8:00 GMT) - Typhoon Morakot, though weaker than some earlier projections sends strong winds through the heart of Taipei in the afternoon of August 7th. The eye is still a few hours from making landfall, and at this point it appears that it will more directly impact the southern half of the island.

     

    In the video, my friend is trying to hang on to her umbrella and keep her footing on a sidewalk in Taipei.
