Save Me: Chicago Hip Hop Against Violence
Save Me: Chicago Hip Hop Against Violence is a song and video, featuring artists from the Chicago Hip Hop Community, that are working to stop the violdence and killing of children on the streets of Chicago. The project is headed by Steve Butler, a pioneer in Chicago's music scene. Steve Butler is dedicated to putting out the message of ending the horrific epidemic of violence on the streets of Chicago. Steve's "Save Me" video is featured on his website: indiehiphop.net as well as facebook and twitter. Steve Butler's efforts and dedication have been acknowledged by Rita Sallie, who is the mother of one Chicago's murdered children, Schanna Gayden. Steve Butler will be attending the CNN Violence Town Hall Meeting on Monday, August 17th. I hope that CNN will make a point to talk to Steve about his mission and efforts to help put an end to the violence in Chicago.
When I first saw the video and heard the song, I was moved to tears and wanted to know what I could do to help stop the violence. Forwarding the Save Me: Chicago Hip Hop Against Violence project to CNN is one of the first steps to reaching the masses. Thank you, CNN!
