Black Bear In the Cove A Traffic Standstill
Cades Cove is an eleven mile one way loop
nestled between the Smokey Mountains.
If you are a ADHD type person do not attempt this drive.
No one gets in a hurry and most often will stop in the road to photograph the native wild life.
This is just what you do.
The scenery is absolutely magnificent, with the most gorgeous sunsets and sunrises over the mountains horizon.
This was our reasoning for the road trip to Cades Cove.
Just about a mile into the eleven mile jaunt the cars came to a screeching halt (another reason not to tail gate) and we knew some varmint was ahead.
My husband pulled over into a parking area and I jumped out.
Sure enough a Smokey Mountain Black Bear was high in a tree, enjoying his dinner.
He/she really put on a show for us.
Finally the park rangers made their way to the bears location and made everyone get out of the very narrow road.
Don't know what anyone of us would have done if young Smokey had decided to come down out of the tree.
