Obama cancels govt informant tipline - Thank God . . .
Thank you, president obama, for cancelling the scary and oppressive informant program . . . flag@whitehouse.gov . . . where people were supposed to turn in their neighbors who said "fishy" things about health care. turn them in directly to white house political "operatives" for investigation . . . not to any police, because of course disagreeing with the president is not a crime (yet).
This sort of program to have citizens inform on each other can only have a chilling effect on free speech and thought. It's creation was reminiscent of the book 1984 ("thoughtcrime"), nazi germany, red china and russia's secret police, etc.
Obama deserves our full support and praise when he gets a decision right.
Thank you president obama for deciding the constitution is more important than seeking out and destroying people who disagree with you.
Now can you please convince Emmanual Rahm, your closest advisor, to adopt the same viewpoint? He's worse then Dick Cheney, evidently.
