    Paris - History and Culture!

    Hi!

I'm an Indian and I went to Paris as a tourist and saw a city full of amazing history. All the stories that I'd only read in the books, came alive when I saw all about it (well preserved) in Paris.

The city is not just a city of lovers, city of lights but also a city that defined the world history. With numerous story writers, painters, singers, politicians, kings, queens..etc etc....made the Paris as how we know it now.

I think Sarkozy has again brought his city and his country in the forefront, as it once was!

_Pic 1&2: _The place where the painter Van Gogh lived. In Montmartre, Paris.

Pic 3&4: Amazing art on wall. Look at the things with which someone made this wall art!

_Pic5: _"I love you" in different language! I saw there were atleast 4 Indian languge too! :)

_Pic 6: _The biggest painting in the Louvre. The same room where Monalisa is. They face each other. This painting is HUGE, but the "huge" crowd that Monalisa can attract, cannot be compared!

_Pic7: _Before going to the Louvre, I was told that I might not be allowed to take its photo! But well, I could! And you can see below, (as a reflection on the painting) how many more people are trying to capture her in their camera!

Pic 8: One of Marcel Aymé's most famous short stories is Le Passe-Muraille or The Walker-Through-Walls. This story is about a man who suddenly discovered he had a gift of being able to pass

through walls. Intially, for him, it was quite fun, but later he started misusing his "gift". And one day, while crossing through the wall, he was caught in the middle, for ever!

_Pic 9: _The lines that "define" Paris! Paris ! Paris outragé ! Paris brisé ! Paris martyrisé ! Mais Paris libéré ! - General Charles de Gaulle

    Love and all the best,

    Praniti Sinha Lal.
