This iReport is part of an assignment:
Health care town halls |
It's not an election!!!!
As of now there is no health care bill. How many of our representatives that are holding these town halls, have actually read all the proposals? How could they, they are traveling around making news and not involved in the process. Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives all of them getting sound bites on TV. Why do we have such a large group of representatives?
Why do we have a chamber of congress and senate? Do they ever spend time in it? No they are only there to vote. They vote according to what there party leaders and committes tell them. They never read the bills. Why aren't these major pieces of legislation debated on the floor by all of our representatives? Why can't it be tevevised so that all of us cand know and understand what is happening? Instead the power of six is working on the bill. We did not elect only six people to decide our government and life. Instead the people we elected are traveling around holding meetings with a few hundred people from both sides yellin and the representatives get sound bites, the TV stations get big advertising and we get nothing. We should be able to watch government in action live, then we can all make informed decisions. Our process of government has become a TV series. Through them all out.
