This iReport is part of an assignment:
Don't say that word |
Honey, lets go on staycation!
I'm tired of media outlets using the word "staycation."
Staycation, as defined by Wikipedia is, "a period of time in which an individual or family stays at home and relaxes at home."
Lots of people relax at home everyday. In fact, I'm home right now relaxing. Does that mean I'm on staycation? Apparently so.
Personally, I believe staycation was a word created to generate more money, because on staycation you can also take day trips to your local zoo, or some other local place. Places people generally go to anyway, without calling it anything.
They have tips on Google.com on how to enjoy your staycation. Do we need to go on Google now to learn how to relax in your own home?
Please, for the love of all that is good, stop using that word. It's annoying/
