Stop We Have To Get OFF

We took our first train ride up the coast on Easter Sunday to my sisters house about 100 miles away.  I had never been on a train before.  It was a last min. decision to travel this way instead of drive so all Amtrak had left were first class seats which is on a second level.  The seats were comfy and they had coffee, tea, milk and various bakery items to choose from.  The scenery was beautiful.  Halfway to our destination, the train stopped for about 5 min. waiting for another train to pass, we were in a strawberry field and the employees of the train got off and were picking strawberries, I thought that was odd.

When our stop was announced we went down some stairs, all that was there was what looked like a cargo area with double doors to the outside, but they were closed. We stood there waiting for someone to open the doors.  I started panicing because the train starting going.  We ran up the stairs.  I saw an employee,  I told him, stop the train we have to get off, he told me I had gone down the wrong staircase.   Somehow he got the train to stop, opened up the cargo door and we jumped out onto tiny rocks.   My family saw the whole thing, they were stunned that the train stopped then started up, then stopped and saw us get off.

We had a wonderful family Easter and the train ride home was flawless.
