This iReport is part of an assignment:
Don't say that word |
Pone and Other Lies
I absolutely despise the excessive overuse of the words "I mis-spoke". Whatever happened to the admission "I Lied"? When politicians state a "mis-speak" into a public microphone, they could at the very least retain some of their dignity by later stating "I Lied" into another public microphone. Instead, they spin it to the absolute excessive point of no return, that not only is their dignity gone, their entire believability is out the door as well. It is not a mis-speak when you tell a lie. It is a complete determination at that time that you are going to lie. When the truth will not hurt or the truth is so much more believable, just tell the truth. Mis-speak ...... the new American Lie.
