Travel Snapshots: Paris |
Great Wolf Lodge, Williamsburg, VA
This weekend (August 21-22) I accompanied my older sister on her "mini-vacation" with my 9 year old nephew and his 8 year old friend to Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Resort. I recommend it as a good getaway for people with children, although it is a bit expensive.
It was my first time visiting Williamsburg as well. The small bit I was able to see on the ride to the Lodge seemed really serene and pretty. It was nice to get away from the constant sirens, speeding police cars, and jammed packed, smog filled DC streets. The lodge looks beautiful on the outside and is uniquely and cheerful designed as a "lodge" within a modern hotel atmosphere indoors.
Guaranteed day or two (or week if you'd like) of fun! It's great for adults too. There are fun, dipping, winding slides and a spa to get away from the children. They are located in a few different locations across the U.S.
I also got the pleasure :) of finding myself besides the Turkey Hill truck on the ride home.
