    Appendix Out On Our Honeymoon

My bride got her appendix out on our honeymoon, on the tiny Caribbean island of Aruba. They stitched her up inside with fishing line! We borrowed $500 from the casino - all the money we had back then - to pay the hospital. The manager was great I still remember his name, Nick Valentine. What a great name for a casino manager, eh?

When we got back, Blue Cross Blue Shield refused to pay the bill. We had to sue them in Small Claims court. Twenty five years later and 10 more surgeries we're still together!

We get re-married --- wedding dress, new rings, bridesmaids, best man flown in from half-way across the country, the whole nine yards.  My sweetie is determined to do it right this time.

    Not to be!

This time around, 3 days after the ceremony, she is back in the hospital for 3 days, poisoned nearly to death by a medical prescription that was three times the amount it should have been. Maybe for our 50th anniversary... we've only got 24 years to go!
