    Entrepreneurship with Glam

Two decades ago our vision of entrepreneurship was limited to this: a young man with bad hygiene sitting in a garage and discovering a simple thing called ‘an operating system’. Today the web is enabling three young ladies in Orange County to break the common misconception of entrepreneurship by adding a touch of glam and femininity to it. Sepi, Nazy, and Jackie are coming together to share their knowledge of beauty, fashion, and style with the online dance community.  Sepi Gazeri started a directory of local belly dance instructors in 2008 and quickly realized that the demand for online belly dance topics extended beyond her simple directory. “I was watching the analytics as closely as a day trader and noticed that there was a lack of informative and entertaining news pertaining to this niche community. Dancing is my passion and the web is my talent, so I realized that this was a great opportunity to build something great.” Within a few months the site was expanded to include editorials, interviews with famous dancers, and a listing of local belly dance events. Three writers were signed-on to assist in the editorial process.  Now a year later and over 15K hits per month, the website is taking a different shape: a bigger shape with more instructive articles on style, beauty, and fashion written by professional makeup artist Jackie Gutierrez and stylist Nazy Meknat. Jackie has built a strong foundation doing makeup for music video artists and celebrities. She does not limit her passion to the world of celebrities – “that is what made her such a valuable resource to BellyDancingDiva”, says Sepi. Jackie’s passion for makeup extends beyond the commercial vision. In her own words: “Makeup is beyond vibrant colors and stunning photography; it’s a way of art and most importantly a way of expression. When I see a face I really see a blank canvas where I can start to create a masterpiece, I see no flaws all I see is potential.” Nazy Meknat’s passion revolves around style and image. Her focus is not to make her clients look trendy, but to help them feel good about themselves. Her theory is fashion impacts not only your image, but also your attitude.  Keep an eye out for these young entrepreneurs and stay tuned for the informative articles to come on BellyDancingDiva.com .
