An 18 yr old youth (white youth this time) was arrested walking 2 blocks up the street walking to his car after leaving a friend's house in Spring Valley subdivison last night.  Crime?  Absolutely nothing as usual.  Crime is not required in an Erlanger arrest.  It is yet another story to add to the long long list from Erlanger courtesy Kentucky's finest men in blue.

The youth had just left his friend's house where there were appox. 25 people to go to his car and leave.  He was accompanied by a friend.  They were stopped by an officer who said they had received 6 calls from concerned citizens that cars were being broken into.  Youth says I haven't done anything and just left my friends house.  Handing phone to officer said here you can call his mom.  Officer threw phone down and advised they were being arrested.  Youth was quite incredulous, but yes he was arrested along with his friend for having done absolutely nothing wrong.

Having much experience with the Erlanger police dept let me interpret what with 90%+ certainty occurred.  The officer was doing normal rounds and saw the boys.  He knew at least one of them and stopped.  If one were to check 911 and police calls last night in Spring Valley, it is highly unlikely that any were received.  Officer ran background on boys and saw juvenile offences perhaps with one linked to past charges of breaking into a car.  Officer created story and arrested boys.  One thing is 100% for sure, there were a ton of witnesses that the boys had just left a house to walk to their car.  There was nothing on them of interest, and they had broken no laws.

18 yr old youth's aunt is an attorney so he will fortunately get free legal expenses.
