Will Democrats Take An $800m High Speed Rail Ride On The Taxpayer's Dime?
The rapid train that is proposed by the Democrats is forecasted to cost in the billions. One of the corriders for the train is from Chicago to Detroit.
Detroit? This is a city that is running a $350m deficit and is forecasted run out of money (if concessions arent obtained) by October 09.
Detroit unforunately looks like post Katrina New Orleans without the Hurricane and tragic loss of life.
Why not spend the $800million on shoring up levies in N.O. instead of a train to nowhere.
Detroit is in a region that is emptying out very quickly. The population loss is staggering. Approximately 109,000 people bailed out of the state last year. Michigan leads the nation in outbound migration.
So taxpayers, it is proposed that $800m be spent on not the bridge to nowhere but the train to nowhere.
Its only purpose might be to get residents who want to leave out of the state quicker.
Thats $800m of our monies. Enough already.
