    UPS stole customer's iPhone

    UPS stole my iPhone!!

I am a graduate student, and I went to a “UPS store” in Cambridge, MA at 07/14 to ship an i-phone (cost $750) to my friend in Philadelphia, PA. A UPS employee helped me to tape the box, and of course, he saw the iPhone in the box.

Two days later, my friend received a box from UPS, and it was EMPTY!!!

I called the “UPS store” that I shipped, and they asked me to call “UPS.” Both of them transferred my phone again and again. I spent a whole week on talking with more than six departments and repeated the story. Finally, they went to my friend’s place to pick up the box.

After that, they claimed that “We are investigating…please call again after a week.”  I called again and again to follow up every few days for more than 15 times, and they asked me to talk to different people every time. FOR MORE THAN A MONTH, they still said that they were investigating, and no one followed up with me. The “UPS store” said “That’ s UPS’ responsibility”, and “UPS” said “That’ s UPS store’s responsibility.”

Finally, I called UPS again at 8/11 (no UPS employee followed up with me ever!) They said that the investigation was finished and asked me to go to the UPS store in person for the result. I went to the UPS store, and they told me “THERE ARE TOOTPASTE IN THE BOX!!!” THEY LIED!!

After that, the “UPS store” said they can’t do anything for me and asked me to call a UPS Service number. The UPS representative asked me to call “UPS store” service number. I called the“UPS store” service number for more than 100+ times, and NO ONE EVER PICKED UP THE PHONE. “UPS store” also claimed that I didn’t purchase the insurance so they are not responsible for the lost (or steal.) However, when I shipped the iPhone, the employee didn’t ask me about the insurance at all!

Anyway, I gave up. I am just a poor student. I am really tired after the 100+ calls and arguing with 20+ different UPS people for two months. I don’t have the power to fight with the big company UPS. I only got $100 from UPS as a refund.

The only thing that I leaned is that UPS stole my iPhone and has horrible customer service, and I won’t ship via UPS anymore forever.

The UPS store that stole my iPhone: UPS store #0681 (955 Massahusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139) phone number: (617)868-5055

    My UPS tracking number: 1Z2AE2400357296483

IPhone Stolen Time: During 07/14/2009, which is the date that I shipped in the store, to 07/16/2009, which is the expected delivery date

The UPS employee who “shipped (or not shipped)” my iPhone in the store: Rich or Rueben (The owner of the UPS store that I shipped is Jesse)
