This iReport is part of an assignment:
Eye on France |
Paris Impressions
Paris is full of surprises.
You can get lost in its backstreets, then turn a corner and suddenly see something that takes your breath away.
It's easy to find something.. Or someone.. Or yourself.
i. Experience the magic of strolling as you follow the sacred geometry of wide avenues and charming squares that take you from grand public spaces to green urban gems, and inside quiet chapels.
ii. Feel the essence of Paris through the excitement of discovery - of a museum, a familiar monument, a picturesque square, a street musician...
iii. In a small square near the Bastille, north of Ile St-Louis the sound of a string orchestra saturates the air..
The name is Place des Vosges..
Who knows, maybe you'll find them there next time you go.. Or maybe you already have.. or maybe you found something equally wonderful as you were looking. There is magic in this City of Lights.
As Hemingway wrote in his recollections of Paris, "If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast."
