Hurricane Ida |
Cabo resort does little to plan for Jimena
This beautiful Cabo resort lobby has two stories of glass overlooking a veranda with a panoramic view of the beach. By mid-afternoon on Monday all that was done to protect the lobby from Jimena was the installation of some tarps on the veranda. We decided on our own to head home four days early. The resort staff asked why we were leaving and said they get this weather "all the time" and there would "just be a little rain on Tuesday."
At the time Jimena was a category 4 hurricane and the Mexican government had already issued a hurricane warning for Cabo with an advisory that said: "A Hurricane Warning means that hurricane conditions are
expected somewhere within the warning area within 24 hours. Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion." I wonder what this will look like next week..
