Controlling life-threatening allergies |
My lifesavers...
I have severe food allergies to avocado and other latex-based foods. I'm still learning what I can and cannot eat, which is a life-or-death, trial & error game.
I have a double pack of Epi pens on my person at all times, and a package of Benadryl Quick Dissolve strips for more manageable reactions.
It is a huge annoyance, but dying (and I've come pretty close) would be far worse.
Additional info- June 28, 2009 I found out I was allergic to avocado. I am 33 and have loved and eaten avocado regularly for years, until that Sunday. I turned bright red, broke out into hives, and passed out when my blood pressure dropped to 72/50. Lightening quick and never happend before. Scary thing is, my allergist says that this is not uncommon with adult allergies!
