3 people dead after train hits car in South Fla.

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (SOBE). 3 people dead after train hits car in South Fla. due to a collision between a Tri-Rail train and a small passenger vehicle which crossed the path of this train heading south from Deerfield Beach Friday evening. At approximately 7:00 PM EST, passengers felt a jolt and heard a loud bang, which seemed as though the train was going to derail. Some passengers described seeing the car tossed in the air after having been struck by Tri-Rail train 809 - 1008; others claim they saw debris smashing into their windows as the train destroyed this vehicle. 3 people, a man, a 2 year old and a toddler were killed on impact. Authorities believe that a fourth person, possibly a woman may have been ejected from the car. Police divers are still looking for that person in a body of water near the tracks. None of the 200 passengers on board were hurt; however, many were noticeably shaken by the turn of events. Passengers (Me being one of them) spent roughly 3 hours waiting on authorities to conduct their investigation before all were allowed to board another Tri-Rail train 505.
