My Brother's Destination wedding
My first family wedding was a destination wedding in Hawaii at Turtle Bay Resort, Kahuku, Oahu. A few good things about destination wedding are that (1) the whole thing comes in an all-inclusive package so it requires very little planning; (2) a good opportunity for a family reunion when relatives live far away as in a distant foreign soil; (3) you can have a good reason for not inviting a large number of people and also you appreciate the few who will nevertheless attend the wedding despite long flight they have to consider; (4) it's a good way to build a sense of unity between in-laws and family members when everybody's in a turf somewhat alien to him/her at the wedding site; (5) a unique vacation opportunity; and (6) a good compromise when bride and groom and their families live all over the States.
Everything we did was a pioneering history making course, establishing a tradition as Korean immigrants living an American life. God bless.
