My Children's Reaction to Obama's Educational Speech

In an earlier iReport "Parents Set Your DVR's" (http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-325994), I posted how my children's school would not be broadcasting President Obama's Educational speech today.  So, I opted to record it on my DVR and watch it with them in the evening.

As a family, we set down after dinner and watched it and this is their reaction to President Obama's Educational Speech.

My fifth grader paid the most attention and got a lot out of it.  I wanted to make sure he hits the ground running after having a difficult year in fourth grade.  Reinforcement from anybody besides his "redundant parents" helps get the point across.

My three year old is very advanced for his age.  I think it has to do with keeping up with his two older brothers.  Although, one day in November  we were walking through a store when he saw Obama's poster and yelled out "Obama!"  He surprised a gentleman and who asked me how old he was and I answered "Two years and 4 months."

My first grader is a character.  He has the same teacher as he did for kindergarten.  His first day of school did not start out on the right note, but after some strong words from his teacher he quickly straightened up and received 2 stickers for the day as all the others only got one.  His teacher told him that I know you and I know what you are capable of doing.  She continues to say that she will not take any of his nonsense for another year.  I laughed hysterically and thought by having the same teacher 2 years in a row does have its benefits.

I am blessed with three smart sons.  My husband and I feel their education is our life and we have made sacrifices for them to make sure they get all the opportunities out there.  Having President Obama's speech play in our home helped inspire our children and two tired parents only after one week of school.
